
Families & Young People
Museum & Tasglann nan Eilean welcomes families and young people to visit us. To help you enjoy your visit we have the following available:
- Backpacks (suitable for ages 2- 8 years): · 3 x colouring sheets, · ‘Small and Big’ (drawing activity) · ‘Museum colour trail’ (count all the different colours you can see around you) · Magnifying Glass · Cards with shapes · Pencil and crayons. The Stornoway venue pack also includes ‘I Spy’, ‘Design your own Pottery’ (investigate with a magnifying glass/ art activity), and a ‘Senses Trail’ ). Please ask at reception in Lewis or Museum Office in Benbecula.
- Interactives (Stornoway only) – two child friendly bilingual digital interactive games in the permanent galleries. A number of other hands-on interactives including ‘build-a-pot’, ‘guess the outfit’ and ‘dressing-up’
- Trails (Stornoway only) – a fun Wildlife I-spy trail for ages 3 to 7, and a Find the Object trail for ages 6 and over
- Community Albums (Stornoway only) – two community albums which were created by teenagers from across the Outer Hebrides in 2015 telling about their pastimes and activities.
